چکیده

This paper presents a Bayesian method to reconstruct the centerline in noisy data using B-spline curves. The method is illustrated on simulated twoand three dimensional data and is applied to recover the centerline of the colon in single photon emission computed tomography images.

Output-only Modal Analysis of a Beam Via Frequency Domain Decomposition Method Using Noisy Data

The output data from a structure is the building block for output-only modal analysis. The structure response in the output data, however, is usually contaminated with noise. Naturally, the success of output-only methods in determining the modal parameters of a structure depends on noise level. In this paper, the possibility and accuracy of identifying the modal parameters of a simply supported...

Modeling and Animation of Generalized Cylinders with Variable Radius O set Space Curves

A method is presented for the modeling and animation of generalized cylinders with variable radius ooset space curves. The boundary surface of a generalized cylinder is constructed: either as a translational sweep of cross-sectional curves along the skeleton curve, or as a rotational sweep of proole curves around the skeleton curve. The cross-sectional curves are computed as the variable radius...

Data Skeletonization via Reeb Graphs

Recovering hidden structure from complex and noisy non-linear data is one of the most fundamental problems in machine learning and statistical inference. While such data is often high-dimensional, it is of interest to approximate it with a low-dimensional or even one-dimensional space, since many important aspects of data are often intrinsically low-dimensional. Furthermore, there are many scen...

Applications of Beamlets to Detection and Extraction of Lines, Curves and Objects in Very Noisy Images

Beamlets are a special dyadically organized collection of line segments, exhibiting a range of lengths, positions and orientations. This collection is relatively compact: there are O(n log2(n)) beamlets, compared to O(n) line segments. This collection is relatively expressive: up to a certain tolerance, it does not take more than O(log2(n)) beamlets to approximate a single line segment. Because...

A method to solve the problem of missing data, outlier data and noisy data in order to improve the performance of human and information interaction

Abstract Purpose: Errors in data collection and failure to pay attention to data that are noisy in the collection process for any reason cause problems in data-based analysis and, as a result, wrong decision-making. Therefore, solving the problem of missing or noisy data before processing and analysis is of vital importance in analytical systems. The purpose of this paper is to provide a metho...
